A Revolution in Electric Aviation. Happening Right Here in Vermont.

Dear Fellow Vermonter,

“Electric aviation’s time has come.”

Those are the words of Kyle Clark, native Vermonter and founder of Beta Technologies. Officially established in 2017 and headquartered in South Burlington, Beta Technologies is working to revolutionize air travel from right here in Vermont – just a stone’s throw away from where Kyle grew up. Today, Beta Technologies has become a national and international leader in the manufacturing of electric planes.

Recently, I had the chance to visit Beta to see things for myself and what I saw was pretty remarkable. Not only did I see Vermonters innovating and working together to pioneer a new way to fly – one that will help us address the existential threat of climate change. I also saw a workplace that treated its workers not as cogs in a machine, but as valued members of a community working towards a common goal. I saw a company committed to being a positive member of Vermont’s communities, including creating hundreds of local, high-paying, green jobs, investing in Vermont’s workforce development, and creating STEM programs, aviation opportunities, and apprenticeships for Vermont students.

It was an interesting visit to say the least and I look forward to seeing what they do next.

I also wanted you to be able to see it for yourself, so the Bernie Buzz went behind the scenes at Beta Technologies to learn more about their story. I hope you’ll take a moment to listen to what they had to say.

Sincerely,
