Dear Fellow Vermonter,
Are you ready for some fun, community building, and exercise? Are you ready to enjoy the natural beauty of Vermont’s Great Outdoors?
If so, please join me and your neighbors for breakfast and a hike to celebrate the official opening of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT), a four-season 93-mile path connecting 18 Vermont communities and five counties.
I hope you will join me on Saturday, July 15 at 10:30 a.m. After breakfast and a town meeting at Hyde Park Elementary School, we will set off on a one-way 2.75-mile hike to Oxbow Park in Morrisville.
I am very proud to have secured the initial federal funding that launched this trail, as well as additional funding to improve trail amenities. Over the last several years, the LVRT has become a tremendous resource for the communities along the route and for our entire state. It is a great place for Vermonters of all ages to come together, enjoy nature, and explore many of our beautiful towns and villages. The completion of this project has been a long time coming, and it’s time to celebrate what we have accomplished.
RSVP Now to Join the Hike
I am looking forward to a fun breakfast, discussion, and hiking. At the end of our 2.75-mile hike, all are invited to join me and Governor Phil Scott at 1:00 p.m. in Oxbow Park for a celebration of the trail’s completion.
Bagels and coffee will be available beginning at 10:00 a.m. Participants are asked to arrive no later than 10:30 a.m. Following the event in Morrisville, hikers may either walk back to the Hyde Park trailhead or arrange their own transportation from Morrisville, as public transportation will not be provided. Further details will be sent to all who RSVP regarding what to bring on the day of the event.
I hope to see you on the trail!
Sincerely,
|
