Elle Is Going to Paris!

Dear Fellow Vermonter,

With another record-breaking performance last night, Vermont’s own Elle St. Pierre has qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Elle outran all the competition and set a new record for the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials, running the 5,000-meter in an impressive 14:40.34.

While she qualified for the Olympics with last night's victory, she is not stopping there. This Thursday, she will compete again, this time in the 1,500-meter.

Even before last night, Elle has had what can only be described as an incredible year: breaking her own record for the U.S. indoor mile, breaking the U.S. record for the world indoor 3,000-meter title, and securing personal bests at the outdoor 1,500- and 5,000-meter races.

All of this just one year after giving birth to her son, Ivan. And when she’s not running, she’s working on her dairy farm in Montgomery, Vermont.

Elle, even before last night, you had already succeeded in doing something extraordinary. Now we can’t wait to cheer you on this summer at the Olympics.

Good luck, Elle. You’ve made our whole state proud.

Sincerely,
