Celebrating the Holidays Together

Dear Fellow Vermonter,

I am delighted that over a thousand Vermonters in Burlington, St. Albans, Bennington and Rutland joined me this weekend in celebrating the holidays at our second annual “Cookies and Carols” events. We had great local music, seasonal beverages and some very good desserts. More importantly, these gatherings brought people of all ages together to enjoy each other’s company and spread a little old-fashioned holiday cheer.

I want to thank the many talented musicians who performed, including students from Burlington’s Edmunds Middle School and Burlington High School; the Bellows Free Academy Chamber Singers, Green Mountain Chorus and the UVM Hit Paws in St. Albans; the Kinhaven Music Scholars and Mount Anthony Union High School Chamber Singers and Band in Bennington; and the singers and teachers from Green Mountain Music in Rutland.

Our last event of the holiday season will be at the State House in Montpellier on Saturday. If you’re in the area, I hope you’ll join us.

Sincerely,
