Need Funding for an Innovative Project That Benefits Vermont Communities?

Applications are now OPEN. Join my staff for a webinar this Tuesday, March 17 to learn more.

Dear Fellow Vermonter,

As Congress prepares to work on the Fiscal Year 2027 Appropriations Bill in Washington, we are kicking off our Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) application process here in Vermont.

Congressionally Directed Spending, which used to be known as “earmarks,” is a process that gives members of Congress the ability to direct federal dollars where they are needed most. Vermont organizations, non-profits, municipalities and state agencies can apply for federal funding for projects that strengthen Vermont communities and improve lives across our state.

At a time when too many people across our country are losing faith in government, this is one way to take action and create real, positive benefits in people’s daily lives and in communities across Vermont.

First time applying? Have questions about what makes a good application? Join my office for a staff-led webinar on Tuesday, March 17 at 10 a.m. to hear more about the process and ask your questions.

Past projects have had a significant impact across a wide range of issues, many long-neglected, including child care, affordable housing, sustainable energy, health and dental care, and infrastructure.

If you would like your project to be considered for federal funding, please fill out an appropriations request application here by 5 p.m. on April 3, 2026.

I wish I could tell you that all requests will be approved. Unfortunately, we receive hundreds of submissions and only a small fraction will end up being accepted. But, those that are accepted — like a new dental clinic that will bring dozens of new dentists to Vermont, a new fire station, or more training opportunities at career and technical education centers — can make a real difference in our state. I hope you will apply today.

Sincerely,
