Bringing Mobile Primary Care to Windham County

Dear Fellow Vermonter,

Good news.

I've always believed that healthcare is a human right and should be available to all Vermonters. I’m happy to inform you that North Star Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center based out of Springfield, Vermont, has launched a Mobile Health Unit bringing acute, non-emergent, primary care directly to communities in Brattleboro and Bellows Falls — two towns that have long needed greater access to primary healthcare services.

Beginning this month the mobile unit will alternate Tuesdays between Brattleboro and Bellows Falls where patients, regardless of their income or insurance status, can receive walk-in primary care. Whether you need treatment for a non-emergency illness, a check-up or help getting connected to ongoing care, the Dr. Delores Barbeau Mobile Health Services Unit is there to help.

If you would like to learn more about where the mobile unit will be each week, please visit: https://www.northstarfqhc.org/mobileunit/ or call North Star Health at (802) 886-8998.

Will Hoser, PA-C and the Dr. Delores Barbeau Mobile Health Services Unit

I want to thank Physician Assistant Will Hoser and nurse Scott Belt who are staffing this mobile unit along with the team at North Star Health for their leadership in making this mobile unit a reality and for their commitment to reaching patients where they are. This is exactly the kind of innovative, community-based approach we need to strengthen primary care across Vermont.

Federally Qualified Health Centers are one of the best examples we have of that work in action. They serve anyone who walks through the door, regardless of whether they have insurance or not. They provide comprehensive, community-based care and help reduce health disparities, particularly in rural areas where access to providers can be limited.

If you want to find the closest Federally Qualified Health Center to you, you can visit this site: https://bistatepca.org/centers/

My office is here to help. Please call (802) 862-0697 to ask questions, share your thoughts or get connected to resources.

Together, we will continue working to ensure that every Vermonter has access to the quality healthcare they deserve.

Sincerely,
