Hoosier Farmers and Builders Deserve Better

I joined with 48 Senate colleagues to introduce a formal challenge to the Biden Administration’s Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule through a Congressional Review Act joint resolution of disapproval.

Our resolution comes after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced a new rule in December 2022 repealing the Navigable Waters Protection Rule, and changing the definition of Waters of the United States in a way that will expand federal regulatory authority. The EPA’s decision to rewrite the WOTUS rule will create red tape for Hoosier farmers and builders who need regulatory clarity. This is an unnecessary bureaucratic overreach that I have long opposed, and I will fight to check these unfair, confusing, and costly regulations.

The full text of our resolution can be found

Protecting the Constitutional Rights of Hoosier Gun Owners

I recently joined with 44 of my Senate colleagues to introduce the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, which would allow individuals with concealed carry privileges in their home state to exercise those rights in any other state that allows concealed carry, while still abiding by that state’s laws.

The bill will protect the constitutional rights of Hoosier gun owners by ensuring any individual who legally owns a gun in Indiana can transport or possess the firearm legally in other states without fear of prosecution.
