Biden Administration Must Answer on Release of Iranian Funds

The terrorist attacks in Israel last October were a warning about how dangerous the world is becoming. If America recedes, bad actors will feel empowered to fill the vacuum.

Iran facilitates the actions of Hamas, as well as other groups intent on destroying Israel.
The United States should be restricting Iran’s access to currency abroad. Instead, the Biden Administration is expanding it, all while continuing to share limited information with Congress and the American people on a strategy to restore deterrence in the Middle East.

I recently joined a group of senators in sending a letter to Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen and Secretary of State Antony Blinken raising our concerns that the latest Iran sanctions waiver makes sanctioned Iranian funds – which could be used for terrorism – more accessible to the Iranian regime. This action disregards congressional intent calling for severe restrictions on payments to Iran.

Hoosier Veterans Visit Washington

Image

Earlier this week, I met with Hoosier veterans visiting Washington with Honor Flight of Chicago. It is always an honor to welcome veterans to the monuments in DC that are dedicated to their service. We owe a debt of gratitude to these Hoosier heroes for the selfless sacrifices they made for our nation.

Countering the EPA's Proposed Ban on Formaldehyde

I recently joined with members of the Indiana delegation in sending a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the impact of the newly released draft risk evaluation for formaldehyde on critical industries in our state. The EPA’s proposal would establish a de facto ban on formaldehyde manufacturing, which would hurt Hoosier families and workers, and disproportionately affect the production and accessibility of EpiPens, metered dose inhalers, seatbelts, electric toothbrushes, crop protection products, wood furniture, and funeral home services.

Congress and the Biden Administration should encourage the expansion of America’s critical manufacturing sectors, instead of hindering it. Read more here.
