National Security Discussion at AEI

I joined Chris Miller, Visiting Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and author of Chip War, for a discussion about how the United States faces a new era of global technological competition as it confronts a rising China.

During the event, we discussed how the United States can strengthen its technological edge, fortify key supply chains, and outcompete China in areas like shipbuilding, semiconductor manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and critical minerals.

I appreciated President Donald Trump hosting me and fellow Republicans on the Senate Finance Committee at the White House last week to discuss priorities for the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act, including how to incentivize more economic growth and support working families.

200th Anniversary of the Log Inn

The Log Inn in Haubstadt celebrated its 200th anniversary earlier this month. 

This Hoosier gem has hosted everyone from Abraham Lincoln to generations of Indiana families and still serves its famous fried chicken. I was pleased that our team could be there to help the Log Inn celebrate its bicentennial. Read more about the restaurant’s history here and here.
