Hearing from Hoosier Farmers

Last week, I spent time in Waldron meeting with Hoosier farmers and producers. We discussed issues important to our ag community, including the Farm Bill, strengthening our supply chain, and trade policy. Thank you to Indiana Farm Bureau for organizing this event. I look forward to more conversations in the months ahead.

Security Cooperation with the Philippines

I recently returned from a productive trip to the Philippines, where I met with Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson, U.S. military personnel stationed there, the Philippine Coast Guard, and Filipino researchers and fishermen. We discussed how our countries can bolster security cooperation and counter threats from China in the region.

I also had the opportunity to fly with an outstanding Navy crew on a P-8 patrol aircraft. I was thrilled to see that they were carrying sonobuoys produced by Hoosiers. My thanks to Ultra Maritime in northeast Indiana—a leading supplier of undersea warfare products for our Navy.
