Boosting America's Critical Mineral Supply 

I recently joined an event hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) to discuss the future of U.S. technology leadership.

Prioritizing our critical supply chains through my SECURE Minerals Act is one way we can protect our national security and continue to be a global leader in important technologies.  

For years, China has leveraged its dominance of critical minerals by manipulating global markets and supply chains. My bill would counter China’s ongoing coercion and ensure the United States has a secure and accessible supply of the minerals that power our defense systems and high-tech industries. Creating this Reserve is a much-needed, aggressive step to protect our national and economic security.

Senate Passes Resolution Honoring National Champion IU Football Team

The Senate unanimously passed a resolution I introduced with Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.) congratulating the Indiana Hoosiers on winning the College Football Playoff National Championship and completing an undefeated 16-0 season.

As an IU fan since the Bill Mallory era, I was proud to lead this Senate resolution celebrating the national champion Indiana Hoosiers. Congressional recognition will give IU fans one more way to Google the wins from this historic season. Thank you to the players, Coach Cignetti, and the entire IU staff for such a special season that will be cherished in our state for generations.
