Major Investment at Crane

Last week, I joined state, industry, and defense leaders for the groundbreaking of the Prometheus Energetics facility at Crane. This facility will create jobs and opportunities for Hoosiers.

This project is just one essential node in an emergent, advanced defense ecosystem across the great state of Indiana. Hoosiers continue to play a critical role in our national security.

Let's Make American Ships Again

I recently wrote a a column on FoxNews.com highlighting the importance of American shipbuilding and how Congress can help make President Trump’s goal of building more American ships a reality.

The release of the White House Maritime Action Plan should serve as a wake-up call for Congress to act quickly and pass our bill. Reviving American shipbuilding will take time, but as President Trump recognizes, doing so is critical to our economic and national security.

The SHIPS for America Act is Congress’s answer to President Trump’s call to restore America’s maritime dominance. It provides the legal authorities and resources necessary to make President Trump’s Maritime Action Plan a reality. It has support from Republicans and Democrats in both the House and the Senate.

Brad Gerstner and the State of the Union

I was honored to have Hoosier Brad Gerstner as my guest for President Trump's State of the Union address. 

Brad is an Elkhart County native who recently announced a commitment to invest $250 into Trump Accounts for qualifying children across Indiana. His investment was highlighted by President Trump during the address.

Recognizing the FFA

The Senate unanimously passed a resolution I introduced with Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) to establish February 21-28, 2026 as National FFA Week.

Future Famers of America (FFA) plays a critical role in the development of students through agricultural education. The lessons, tools, and resources gained through the FFA program equip Indiana’s future leaders with the skills needed to succeed in a variety of fields. I’m glad to lead this resolution establishing National FFA Week in support of the more than 14,000 Hoosier FFA members.
