Reagan Institute Event on National Security

Image

I joined the Ronald Reagan Institute’s National Security Innovative Base Summit for a discussion on several national security priorities, including revitalizing U.S. shipbuilding and ensuring America has a reliable supply of the critical minerals needed for our defense.

My SHIPS for America Act and Critical Minerals Act would help address these national security issues.

Let's Fund the Department of Homeland Security

Image

As I went through the TSA checkpoint at the Indy Airport on Monday, I asked one of the dedicated agents how his team was doing while the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is unfunded. He responded: “We are losing people left and right. People have bills to pay.“

Democrats need to come to the table to help us fund DHS and take care of the hardworking men and women of TSA, Border Patrol, Coast Guard, and other important agencies and offices who help keep us safe. Read more here.

Honoring Coach Lou Holtz

Image

The Senate unanimously passed a resolution I introduced with U.S. Senators Chris Coons (D-Del.) and Jim Banks (R-Ind.) honoring the life of Coach Lou Holtz and his enduring legacy of faith, family, and the pursuit of excellence.

Lou Holtz spent decades investing in college athletes and encouraging them to become the best versions of themselves on the field and in life. I’m grateful for the impact Coach Holtz made at Notre Dame.

Increasing Access to Medical Care for Americans with Diabetes

I recently introduced the Diabetes Foot Health Access and Modernization Act, legislation that would increase access to diabetic shoes for more Americans.

This bill, which I introduced with U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), will make it easier for Americans living with diabetes to access proper medical care that is critical to avoiding more serious health complications.
