Led Appropriations Markup

On Thursday, Senator Murray and Senator Collins led an Appropriations Committee markup and successfully advanced three more bipartisan funding bills:
✅Energy and Water Development
✅State and Foreign Operations
✅Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development

Attended TimberHP Grand Opening

On Friday, Senator Collins celebrated the return of wood product manufacturing to the Madison Paper Mill.
At the site of the former mill, TimberHP will now be producing wood fiber insulation for homes and businesses.
Senator Collins secured $1 million in Congressionally Directed Spending to help support the Town of Madison’s Forest Products Hub Economic Revitalization project.

Senator Collins watched Maine’s Congressional Softball Team, the Lobstars, as they clawed their way back to beat Senator Jerry Moran’s team 10-9, finishing first in the division. She had a wonderful time cheering on so many of her hardworking staffers.

Attended Groundbreaking of New Housing Complex
 
On Monday, Senator Collins participated in the groundbreaking for 82 affordable apartments in the historic 150-year old Wedgewood Building in Lewiston. Local residents, city, state, and federal officials, non-profits like the John T. Gorman Foundation, and business partners attended the celebration.
Two years ago, Senator Collins helped the city secure a highly competitive $30 million grant that made this Tree Streets revitalization project possible. Lewiston was the first small city in the nation to receive both planning and implementation grants under the Choice Neighborhoods program.

Welcomed Students to D.C.
 
Senator Collins was pleased to welcomed students participating in the Bank of America Student Leaders program to her Washington office.
