Met with U.S. Postal Service IG as Mainers Experience Mail Delivery Problems

Amid staffing and service issues with the U.S. Postal Service in Maine, Senator Collins met with the Inspector General (IG) of the U.S. Postal Service, Tammy Hull, in her Washington office (pictured above).
During their meeting, they discussed the alarming results of an audit Senator Collins and Representative Chellie Pingree requested earlier this year.
The audit found that in just one day, there were over 150,000 pieces of delayed mail in Maine.
These numerous delays are unacceptable, and Senator Collins is working with the IG to address the workforce shortages and help ensure that reliable service is restored to Maine communities and families who rely on the mail service every day.
