Senator Scott Statement on Senate Passage of WRRDA

Washington – Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) released the following statement after voting “Yes” on the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) this afternoon.

“The Water Resources Reform and Development Act makes reforms and improvements to our nation’s transportation and infrastructure systems. These reforms are needed to modernize America’s corridors of commerce to create jobs and grow the economy,” said Sen. Scott. “The legislation also streamlines burdensome environmental red-tape to quicken the approval of projects and deauthorizes nearly $18 billion in old, inactive projects. At the same time, it contains critical language that puts South Carolina’s ports in a position to compete – and we know when our ports compete, they win.”
