Senator Tim Scott Accepting Applications for Fall 2014 Internship Positions available in Washington, DC, North Charleston, Columbia and Greenville Offices

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) today announced he is accepting applications for congressional internships in his Washington, DC, North Charleston, Columbia and Greenville Offices for the fall of 2014.  The Intern Program is open to undergraduate and graduate students who have strong interest in public service, government and press.  All internships are unpaid, but provide students valuable work experience and an opportunity to work with professionals in legislative, constituent services and press roles.   Washington, DC Office: In Washington, interns' responsibilities vary and include answering phones, researching legislation, attending Congressional hearings and briefings, assisting with press tasks and assisting with constituent letters on issues.    South Carolina Offices - North Charleston, Columbia and Greenville: In the South Carolina Offices (North Charleston, Columbia and Greenville), interns will take an active role in the community, working on state-based projects of importance, while also answering phones, completing research and other projects, and being an integral part of day-to-day office functioning.    Internship hours are flexible to accommodate students' course schedules, but can generally run 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
