FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Obamacare is Even Worse at Five

"The Affordable Care Act is even worse at five and has resulted in soaring premiums, lost coverage, billions of dollars wasted and a trail of broken promises to the American people."
- Senator Tim Scott

Obamacare Hits Americans with Higher Premiums for Healthcare Coverage:

  • Studies show the healthcare law increased individual market premiums by almost 50 percent in 2014 relative to 2013 prices. On top of the substantial increase in 2014, there was an average increase of about 4 percent in 2015 for benchmark plans.  Even more, a recent report by Avalere Health found the most popular exchange plans increased premiums by 10 percent on average in 2015.

  • A recent report by the National Bureau of Economic Research found that in 2014 premiums in the non-group health insurance market grew by 24.4 percent on average compared to what they would have been without Obamacare.

Obamacare Was an Egregious Abuse of Taxpayer Dollars

  • The Obama Administration’s website - http://HealthCare.gov became a pre-existing condition for many Americans that were forced to purchase insurance on the broken site or face a fine. Despite fixes to http://HealthCare.gov, security concerns remain. According to reports, the total cost of the failed enrollment system surpassed $2 billion.
    PRICE TAG:  $2.1 BILLION

Obamacare Subsidies Cause Confusion and Frustration for American Taxpayers
  • An error in the President’s health law may delay tax refunds for hundreds of thousands of Americans. On February 20, 2015, the Obama Administration announced that it sent out about 800,000 incorrect important tax statements.  The administration reported incorrect benchmark premiums on the Form 1095-A and is now asking affected individuals who have not filed their taxes yet to wait until they receive their corrected 1095-A forms.
