Keep
Gitmo
Prisoners
in
Guantanamo
Bay!
Last
Wednesday,
my
staff
and
I
toured
the
Charleston
Naval
Brig
with
Department
of
Defense
officials.
The
President
is
forcing
an
assessment
of
the
Brig
as
a
potential
site
for
housing
dangerous
terrorists
currently
being
held
at
Guantanamo
Bay.
Not
only
is
moving
these
terrorists
to
a
domestic
location
against
the
law,
but
it
is
just
an
awful
idea
to
transfer
these
prisoners
anywhere
on
domestic
soil.
During
the
tour,
I
asked
the
administration
about
the
safety
of
the
community
and
how
much
it
would
cost
to
move
these
terrorists
to
US
soil;
unfortunately,
the
administration
told
me
they
have
not
yet
considered
these
important
factors.
The
Brig
is
located
minutes
away
from
neighborhoods,
schools,
and
critical
transportation
infrastructure
–
which
makes
the
President’s
decision
to
move
forward
even
more
unbelievable.
I
will
continue
to
work
with
both
members
of
our
delegation
and
the
Kansas
delegation
to
fight
against
bringing
enemy
combatants
to
any
location
in
our
country.

Iran
"Deal"
I
am
heading
back
to
Washington,
DC
today
for
the
start
of
a
busy
month
in
the
Senate.
In
addition
to
our
fight
to
keep
Guantanamo
prisoners
out
of
the
U.S.,
we
will
be
voting
this
week
on
the
President’s
Iranian
nuclear
deal.
I
strongly
oppose
this
deal,
which
does
not
stop
Iran’s
nuclear
program,
and
places
our
security,
Israel’s
security,
and
the
future
of
the
Middle
East
in
doubt.
Iran
remains
a
recognized
state
sponsor
of
terror
and
one
of
the
most
dangerous
actors
in
the
world.
I
will
continue
to
fight
against
this
terrible
deal.
