Keep
Gitmo
Prisoners
in
Guantanamo
Bay!
Last
Wednesday,
my
staff
and
I
toured
the
Charleston
Naval
Brig
with
Department
of
Defense
officials.
The
President
is
forcing
an
assessment
of
the
Brig
as
a
potential
site
for
housing
dangerous
terrorists
currently
being
held
at
Guantanamo
Bay.
Not
only
is
moving
these
terrorists
to
a
domestic
location
against
the
law,
but
it
is
just
an
awful
idea
to
transfer
these
prisoners
anywhere
on
domestic
soil.
During
the
tour,
I
asked
the
administration
about
the
safety
of
the
community
and
how
much
it
would
cost
to
move
these
terrorists
to
US
soil;
unfortunately,
the
administration
told
me
they
have
not
yet
considered
these
important
factors.
The
Brig
is
located
minutes
away
from
neighborhoods,
schools,
and
critical
transportation
infrastructure
which
makes
the
President’s
decision
to
move
forward
even
more
unbelievable.
I
will
continue
to
work
with
both
members
of
our
delegation
and
the
Kansas
delegation
to
fight
against
bringing
enemy
combatants
to
any
location
in
our
country.

Iran
"Deal"
I
am
heading
back
to
Washington,
DC
today
for
the
start
of
a
busy
month
in
the
Senate.
In
addition
to
our
fight
to
keep
Guantanamo
prisoners
out
of
the
U.S.,
we
will
be
voting
this
week
on
the
President’s
Iranian
nuclear
deal.
I
strongly
oppose
this
deal,
which
does
not
stop
Iran’s
nuclear
program,
and
places
our
security,
Israel’s
security,
and
the
future
of
the
Middle
East
in
doubt.
Iran
remains
a
recognized
state
sponsor
of
terror
and
one
of
the
most
dangerous
actors
in
the
world.
I
will
continue
to
fight
against
this
terrible
deal.
