Charleston,
SC
U.S.
Senator
Tim
Scott
(R-SC)
released
the
following
statement
on
the
14th
anniversary
of
the
September
11th
terrorist
attacks.
“Fourteen
years
ago,
our
nation
was
changed
forever.
Today
we
honor
the
nearly
3,000
people
who
lost
their
lives
that
day
in
New
York,
Pennsylvania
and
Virginia,
and
open
our
hearts
and
our
arms
to
their
families.
As
our
nation
comes
together
in
remembrance,
we
are
also
reminded
of
what
makes
our
country
great
and
the
hope
that
our
best
days
are
still
to
come.
While
September
11
is
one
of
the
most
tragic
days
in
history,
we
also
saw
amazing
heroism,
courage
and
sacrifice
that
day.
Countless
firefighters,
police
officers
and
other
law
enforcement
officers
ran
towards
danger,
risking,
and
for
some
losing,
their
own
lives
to
save
others.
The
wave
of
patriotism
we
saw
following
9/11
was
in
no
small
part
due
to
these
heroes
and
their
efforts,
and
we
can
never
thank
them
enough
for
their
actions
that
day.
May
God
Bless
them,
the
families
of
those
who
lost
their
lives,
and
the
United
States
of
America.”
