host
a
series
of
informational
sessions
and
office
hours
throughout
South
Carolina
for
high
school
students
interested
in
attending
one
of
the
five
service
academies
U.S.
Military
Academy,
U.S.
Naval
Academy,
U.S.
Air
Force
Academy,
U.S.
Merchant
Marine
Academy
or
U.S.
Coast
Guard
Academy.
These
sessions
will
allow
students
and
their
families
to
learn
about
the
overall
nomination
and
application
process
and
ask
questions
about
attending
a
service
academy.
“Some
of
our
nation’s
brightest
service
men
and
women
have
graduated
from
the
five
U.S.
service
academies.
Because
of
them,
we
have
the
most
capable
armed
forces
in
the
world,
“
said
Senator
Scott.
“I
encourage
any
South
Carolinian
interested
in
serving
their
country,
receiving
a
quality
college
education,
and
developing
leadership
skills
to
attend
one
of
the
informational
sessions
my
staff
is
hosting
to
learn
more
about
the
application
process
and
our
nation’s
service
academies.”
Students
interested
in
being
considered
for
a
nomination
by
Senator
Scott
must
submit
an
application,
SAT/ACT
scores,
2
essays,
high
school
transcripts,
and
three
letters
of
recommendation
by
October
26,
2015.
