WASHINGTON- U.S.
Senator
Tim
Scott
(R-SC)
released
the
following
statement
in
regards
to
the
Paris
attacks:
"As
ISIS
continues
to
wage
a
war
based
on
their
ideology
of
hate
and
brutality,
I
take
heart
in
the
reaction
of
the
people
of
Paris.
All
weekend,
they
stood
up
and
put
ISIS
on
notice
that
they
are
not
afraid,
and
stand
together
as
one.
I
also
commend
President
Hollande
for
taking
quick
action
to
bring
the
fight
to
ISIS,
which
absolutely
must
be
done
in
order
to
eliminate
these
terrorists.
"President
Obama
must
determine
an
actual
strategy,
working
in
partnership
with
our
allies
across
Europe
and
in
the
Middle
East,
to
bring
an
end
to
the
ISIS
threat.
So
far
we
have
seen
nothing
of
the
sort
from
this
White
House,
and
nothing
reaffirms
that
more
than
their
decision
to
release
more
terrorists
from
Guantanamo
Bay
two
days
after
the
attacks
in
Paris.
"We
must
also
suspend
plans
for
admitting
Syrian
refugees
to
the
United
States
until
it
is
determined
without
a
doubt
that
those
seeking
to
come
to
the
United
States
are
of
no
danger
to
American
citizens.
My
heart
goes
out
to
those
families
directly
impacted
by
the
crisis
in
Syria,
however
in
absence
of
a
fail-proof
system
we
simply
cannot
put
American
lives
at
risk.
"The
Paris
attacks
must
serve
as
a
wake
up
call
to
those
who
are
not
taking
the
threat
of
radical
Islam
seriously.
It
is
time
for
the
United
States
to
step
up
and
lead
we
are
seeing
the
tragic
consequences
of
what
happens
when
we
don’t."
