“Jesus
said
unto
her,
I
am
the
resurrection,
and
the
life:
he
that
believeth
in
me,
though
he
were
dead,
yet
shall
he
live:”

Friends
As
families
throughout
South
Carolina
and
around
the
world
gather
to
celebrate
Easter
Resurrection Sunday
I
am
reminded
about
the
power
of
the
Easter
message.
That
message
became
real
to
me
on
September
22,
1983,
while
I
was
attending
a
Fellowship
of
Christian
Athlete
meeting
at
Presbyterian
College.
That
day
one
of
my
teammates
JR
had
an
altar
call,
where I gave
my
life
to
the
Lord.
I
will
never
forget
that
day
-
made
possible
because
of
Christ
and
his
willingness
to
die
for
my
sins
and
his
triumphant
resurrection
from
the
dead.
So,
today
as
excited
children
hunt
for
hidden
eggs
in
new
clothes
and
bows
and
families
enjoy
a
great
meal,
I
am
grateful
to
live
in
America,
a
place
that
has
and
will
forever
be
a
beacon
of
religious
freedom.
We
can
gather
in
houses
of
worship
around
the
country
to
pray
and
offer
thanks
on
this
special
day
because
our
Constitution
ensures
us
that
freedom a
freedom I will
continue
to
defend
every
day.
From
my
family
to
yours,
Happy
Easter!
