Obamacare
Continues
To
Be
Dismantled
Obamacare
is
one
of
this
administration’s
biggest
failures.
Since
its
inception,
there
have
been
problems
on
top
of
problems
and
when
the
American
people
voiced
their
concerns,
the
administration
could
only
offer
excuses,
not
solutions.
This
past
week,
a
federal
district
judge
ruled
in House
v.
Burwell that
the
Obama
administration
unlawfully
funded
parts
of
Obamacare
without
an
appropriation
from
Congress
-
in
other
words,
improperly
spending
taxpayer
dollars
to
pay
for
subsidies
related
to
Obamacare.
The
case,
brought
by
Republicans
in
the
House
of
Representatives,
shows
two
important
things.
First,
when
you
pass
a
bill
to
figure
out
what’s
in
it,
you
end
up
with
a
bad
bill,
and
second,
we
are
seeing
one
more
step
in
Obamacare
failing
the
American
people.
My
PACE
Act,
which
was
recently
signed
into
law,
prevents
a
harmful
expansion
of
Obamacare. From
raising
premiums
and
deductibles
for
hard
working
American
families,
to
failing
co-ops
and
state
exchanges
across
the
country,
it
is
clear
that
the
Unaffordable
Care
Act
is
collapsing
under
its
own
weight.
You
can
watch
my
response
to
the
ruling here.
FY
2017
National
Defense
Authorization
Act
Last
week,
the
Senate
Armed
Services
Committee
approved
the FY
2017
National
Defense
Authorization
Act (NDAA),
which
includes
several
provisions
related
to
Guantanamo
Bay,
by
a
vote
of
23-3.
The
NDAA’s
provisions
include extending
the
prohibition
on
the
use
of
funds for the
transfer
to
the
United
States
of
individuals
detained
at
Guantanamo
Bay,
greater
transparency
on
detainees
that
the
United
States
transfers,
and
several
other
provisions
to
stop
the
administration
from
acting
against
the
will
of
the
people.
There
remains
strong
bipartisan
support
to
keep
Guantanamo
Bay
open
and
stop
the
transfer
of
the
world’s
most
dangerous
people
to
American
soil.
We
have
seen
on
multiple
occasions
that
releasing
these
terrorists
to
other
countries
allows
them
to
rejoin
the
fight
against
the
western
world.
I
will
continue
to
fight
to
keep
Guantanamo
Bay
open
and
the
prisoners
it
holds
away
from
our
homeland.
