Dear
Friends,
As
we
sit
down
this
weekend
with
friends,
family
and
barbecue
to
celebrate
the
start
of
summer,
we
also
gather
in
memory
of
those
who
have
paid
the
ultimate
sacrifice
in
service
of
our
nation.
Memorial
Day
gives
us
the
chance
to
honor
service
members
who
have
given
their
lives
for
the
love
of
their
country.
As
we
mourn
those
heroes
lost,
we
remember
everything
they
sacrificed
for
us– as
they
paid
the
ultimate
price
to
defend
our
values
and
our
ideals,
our
nation
remains
one
of
opportunity
and
freedom.
I
am
looking
forward
to
spending
the
afternoon
in
Sumter
for
their
annual
Memorial
Day
ceremony,
and
to
honoring
the
memory
of
these
brave
men
and
women
who
gave
everything
for
our
nation.
From
the
Revolutionary
War
to
the
current
conflicts
around
the
world,
their
blood,
sweat
and
tears
are
what
bring
our
nation
together,
and
today
we
remember
all
of
those
service
members
we
have
lost.
