MEDIA ADVISORY: Senator Tim Scott, Congressmen Davis and Rangel to Host
Sickle Cell Briefing TODAY


 

Washington - U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), Congressmen Danny Davis (D-IL), and Charles Rangel (D-NY), co-chairs of the Congressional Sickle Cell Caucus, will host a briefing highlighting the unique medical issues facing children with sickle cell disease this afternoon. The briefing, titled “Living with Sickle Cell Disease: Treatment from Birth to Adulthood,” will include leading experts from across the country who will share what life is like for a patient with sickle cell disease and what treatment options are available.

Congressional Sickle Cell Caucus co-chairs Senator Scott, Congressmen Davis and Rangel are expected to deliver remarks during the discussion. The caucus was founded in 2014 in efforts to promote education and awareness about the disease.
