Washington
U.S.
Senator
Tim
Scott
(R-SC)
released
the
statement
below
regarding
F.B.I.
Director
James
Comey’s
press
conference
on
Hillary
Clinton
earlier
today.
“Today’s
statement
by
FBI
Director
James
Comey
acknowledges
that
there
is
evidence
Secretary
Clinton
mishandled
classified
information
through
her
personal
email
server,
and
that
the
culture
at
the
State
Department
was
lackadaisical
regarding
the
protection
of
classified
information.
Secretary
Clinton's
purposeful
decision
to
setup
a
private
email
server
put
our
national
security
at
stake,
and
the
FBI
believes
it
‘is
possible
that
hostile
actors
gained
access’
to
her
personal
email
account.
Now
more
than
ever,
I
believe
a
special
prosecutor
is
needed,
in
order
to
assure
the
American
people
that
politics
are
not
overriding
the
truth
in
this
case.
It
has
become
clear
that
the
rules
are
different
for
the
Clintons
than
they
are
for
every
day
Americans,
and
that
must
stop."
