Office

U.S.
Senator
Tim
Scott
(R-SC)
will
host
informational
sessions
and
office
hours
for
students
interested
in
attending
one
of
the
four
service
academies
U.S.
Military
Academy,
U.S.
Naval
Academy,
U.S.
Air
Force
Academy,
or
the
U.S.
Merchant
Marine
Academy.
These
sessions,
open
to
8th-12th
graders,
will
allow
students
and
their
families
to
learn
about
the
overall
nomination
and
application
process
and
ask
questions
about
attending
a
service
academy.
“The
four
service
academies
have
produced
some
of
our
country’s
greatest
officers
and
are
instrumental
in
helping
our
country
maintain
the
finest
military
in
the
world,"
said
Senator
Scott.
“There
is
no
time
like
the
present
to
start
thinking
about
your
future.
I
encourage
South
Carolinians
who
are
interested
in
the
academies
to
attend
one
of
the
information
sessions
that
my
offices
will
be
hosting.”
Students
interested
in
being
considered
for
a
nomination
this
year
by
Senator
Scott
must
submit
an
application,
SAT/ACT
scores,
two
essays,
high
school
transcripts,
and
three
letters
of
recommendation
by
October
13,
2016.
These
sessions
will
be
led
by
staff
and
registration
is
not
required.

students
from
across
South
Carolina
to
be
considered
for
an
appointment
to
