Dear Friends,

Thank you for subscribing to my weekly e-newsletter, and please remember to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

Coming Together

I strongly believe that prayer makes a difference, and I fully supported Governor Haley’s call for prayer vigils to be held across the state last week. Over the last couple of years, South Carolina has faced trying times; however, we have overcome each obstacle stronger than we were before because we stayed unified.

It was truly a blessing to join my fellow South Carolinians at Mother Emanuel AME Church in prayer for the Thanksgiving holiday and the lingering effects of Hurricane Matthew. After the vigil, I took the opportunity to share my thoughts here.

Death of Castro

Fidel Castro’s death over the weekend marked the end for a brutal dictator, one that killed and imprisoned countless innocent Cubans. Like all people, Cubans deserve freedom and hope for the future. I stand with the Cuban people as they continue their fight for basic human rights, and hope that one day they gain the freedom they deserve.

Senate Opportunity Coalition

We need new, innovative ideas to fight poverty and bring opportunity to families across the nation. The Senate Opportunity Coalition seeks to do just that by listening and developing real solutions based on what the American people are saying.

The coalition and I seek to pass legislation that empowers the people rather than hindering them. If given a chance, I believe that conservative solutions hold the key to making the American Dream a reality for all.

Sincerely,

Tim
