Washington,
DC-
U.S.
Senator
Tim
Scott
(R-SC)
issued
the
following
statement
after
voting
to
support
the
21st
Century
Cures
Act:
We
live
in
the
greatest
country
in
the
world,
and
it
is
important
that
we
continue
to
take
concerted
steps
to
improve
the
quality
of
our
healthcare
system.
I
am
glad
to
see
this
bill
addresses
the
need
to
overhaul
the
FDA
approval
process
for
prescriptions
and
medical
devices,
highlights
the
growing
number
of
mental
health
cases,
allocates
funds
for
disease
research,
and
has
pushed
to
establish
an
electronic
health
record
system
that
would
make
it
easier
for
medical
professionals
to
access
their
patients’
medical
history.
I
am
incredibly
hopeful
that
this
piece
of
legislation
will
help
lead
the
way
to
innovative
medical
breakthroughs
that
will
help
save
American
lives.
