former

Senator
Dan
Coats
to
be
Director
of
National
Intelligence.
Coats
was
confirmed
by
the
Senate
86-10:
"Intelligence
is
the
first
line
of
defense
in
preventing
attacks
on
our
soil,
and
a
critical
countermeasure
to
helping
prevent
dangerous
individuals
from
causing
harm.
The
Director
of
National
Intelligence
has
a
monumental
task
of
overseeing
our
intelligence
entities
and
ensuring
they
are
structured
in
a
way
that
makes
us
more
proactive
in
combatting
terrorism.
Senator
Dan
Coats,
an
Army
veteran,
former
U.S.
Ambassador,
and
former
member
of
the
Senate
Intelligence
Committee,
is
exceptionally
qualified
to
serve
as
our
next
Director
of
National
Intelligence,
and
I
look
forward

him
