Clemson
University’s
inaugural
Men
of
Color
National
Summit
tomorrow,
April
28th.
The
summit
will
take
place
at
the
TD
Convention
Center.
As
someone
who
grew
up
mired
in
poverty
and
overcame
adversity,
Senator
Scott
is
expected
to
speak
on
the
importance
of
education
and
mentorships,
and
how
both
had
a
positive
impact
in
his
life
and
essentially
led
him
down
a
successful
path.
According
to
Clemson
University,
the
mission
of
the
Men
of
Color
National
Summit is
to
close
the
achievement
gap
for
African-American
and
Hispanic
males,
from
cradle
to
career.
The
national
conference
will
lead
to
awareness
of
the
changing
U.S.
demographics
by
enhancing
the
experience
of
men
of
color
through
involvement
and
engagement,
preparing
them
for
a
global
mindset.
