Constitution
Week
Yesterday,
our
nation
celebrated
Constitution
Day,
some
230
years
after
the
United
States
Constitution
was
originally
signed.
This
week,
we
celebrate
Constitution
Week
and
begin
a
national
commemoration
of
our
country’s
most
important
document.
Our
Constitution
is
the
cornerstone
of
our
liberties
and
freedoms,
and
stands
as
a
testament
to
the
tenacity
of
Americans
throughout
history.
“We
the
people”
should
remember
every
day
how
important
it
is
to
uphold
the
principles
and
values
that
our
nation
was
founded
on.
Tax
Reform
Tax
reform
is
critical
for
American
families.
We
need
a
simplified
system
that
encourages
success.
Our
current
tax
code
is
antiquated,
and
a
fair
system
tailored
for
the
21st
century
is
long
overdue.
Our
system
should
not
make
it
more
difficult
for
working
Americans;
it
should
encourage
success
and
a
chance
at
the
American
Dream.
When
we
discuss
tax
reform,
our
focus
needs
to
be
on
raising
incomes
(especially
for
those
who
haven’t
seen
a
raise
in
decades),
more
jobs,
and
a
major
boost to
our
nation’s
economy.
We
must
simplify
our
tax
code.
We
must
do
what
we
can
to
ensure
every
American
has
the
opportunity
to
succeed.
Meeting
with
President
Trump
Last
week,
I
sat
down
with
President
Trump
at
the
White
House.
I
enjoyed
the
opportunity
to
express
my
belief
that
we
must
condemn
all
groups that
support racism,
hatred
and
violence.
I
did
not
expect
to
change
the
President’s
rhetoric
in
one
meeting,
however,
our
meeting
was
encouraging.
The
President
committed
to
diversifying
his
staff
as
well
as
make
clear
his
support
for
my
Investing
in
Opportunity
Act.
These
are
concrete
steps
that
will
help
our
poor
and
minority
communities
and
ensure
their
voices
are
heard.
Regardless
of
what
is
said
or
not
said,
I
am
committed
to
continuing
my
efforts
to
unite
our
nation
and
move
forward
as
one
American
family.
You
can
hear
me
speak
more
about
our
meeting
here.
Sincerely,

Tim
