U.S.
Senator
Tim
Scott
is
scheduled
to
speak
at
two
events
where
he
will
highlight
the
anticipated
benefits
of
his
Investing
in
Opportunity
Act (IIOA)
and
the
launch
of
his
official National
Opportunity
Tour.
He
will
first
speak
to
small
business
investors
at
the
Small
Business
Investor
Alliance
(SBIA)
DC
Fly-In,
and
later
in
the
day
will
speak
to
elected
officials
and
delegates
at
the
National
League
of
Cities
Conference.
The
IIOA
was
included
in
the
tax
reform
package
that
was
passed
into
law
earlier
this
year,
and
is
designed
to
help
drive
private
sector
investments
to
our
most
distressed
communities.
As
part
of
his
push
to
make
opportunity
and
upward
mobility
more
accessible
to
everyday
Americans,
Senator
Scott
has
also
launched
his
Opportunity
Tour
as
a
way
to
travel
to
different
cities
across
the
country
to
help
him
gain
a
better
understanding
of
some
of
the
obstacles
impeding
upward
mobility
for
residents
living
in
economically
challenged/high-potential
areas. The
Senator
will
also
participate
in
a
conference
call
with
Historically
Black
Colleges
and
Universities
(HBCUs)
later
in
the
day
to
discuss
the
IIOA
and
its
possible
benefits
for
the
HBCU
community.
