Advisory: Scott to speak on his Investing in Opportunity Act/Opportunity Tour TODAY in DC

Washington  – Today, U.S. Senator Tim Scott is scheduled to speak at two events where he will highlight the anticipated benefits of his Investing in Opportunity Act (IIOA) and the launch of his official National Opportunity Tour. He will first speak to small business investors at the Small Business Investor Alliance (SBIA) DC Fly-In, and later in the day will speak to elected officials and delegates at the National League of Cities Conference.

The IIOA was included in the tax reform package that was passed into law earlier this year, and is designed to help drive private sector investments to our most distressed communities. As part of his push to make opportunity and upward mobility more accessible to everyday Americans, Senator Scott has also launched his Opportunity Tour as a way to travel to different cities across the country to help him gain a better understanding of some of the obstacles impeding upward mobility for residents living in economically challenged/high-potential areas. The Senator will also participate in a conference call with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) later in the day to discuss the IIOA and its possible benefits for the HBCU community.
