Tax
Reform
Last
Wednesday
in
the
Senate
Finance
Committee,
we
had
a
discussion
on
the
benefits
of
tax
reform
for
American
families,
small
businesses,
and
communities
in
need.
Our
goals
on
tax
reform
were
many:
spur
economic
growth,
restore
American
competitiveness,
create
jobs,
and
put
upwards
pressure
on
wages.
All
of
these
hopes
have
become
realized
through
the
Tax
Cuts
and
Jobs
Act,
which
featured
many
important
provisions
like
the
doubling
of
the
Child
Tax
Credit
and
the
Investing
in
Opportunity
Act.
Tax
reform
continues
to
work
for
the
American
people!
And
we
are
just
getting
started.
You

Statement
on
Mike
Pompeo
Confirmation
Last
week,
I
voted
to
confirm
Mike
Pompeo
as
Secretary
of
State.
We
need
a
Secretary
of
State
with
a
strong,
clear
vision
for
the
United
States
and
our
role
in
the
world.
During
his
time
in
Congress
and
as
CIA
Director,
Mike
Pompeo
has
shown
he
is
the
man
for
this
job.
With
several
critical
diplomatic
issues
currently
moving
forward,
from
Iran
to
North
Korea,
I
am
confident
that
Mike
will
provide
the
best
possible
counsel
and
direction
for
the
President.
Around
the
State
Last
Thursday,
my
office
in
Columbia
hosted
a
Workforce
Matchmaking
panel
connecting
our
state’s
amazing
HBCUs
and
the
business
community
-
building
relationships
helping
to
power
our
future
economy
and
workforce
development.
We
had
over
15
S.C.
businesses
represented,
including
Boeing,
Nephron
Pharmaceuticals,
Colonial
Life,
Red
Ventures
&
Sonoco.
It
was
a
productive
event
that
I
hope
inspired
mutually
beneficial
connections
between
our
state’s
institutions
and
businesses!
Sincerely,

Tim
