Women Veteran’s Event
With Veterans Day approaching, I hope you will join me on November 10th in Columbia for a special event honoring South Carolina’s women veterans. All South Carolinians, whether you are a veteran or just a proud American, are encouraged to RSVP and come!
In addition, I recently was happy to announce a special keynote speaker: my friend and colleague, Sen. Joni Ernst. As a combat veteran herself, I am so excited to welcome her back to the Palmetto State and look forward to having her join us at the event. I have no doubt that her passion, story, and mission will resonate with South Carolina’s 43,000 women veterans.

Opportunity Zones
Late last week, the Treasury Dept. released its first set of rules regarding the Opportunity Zones legislation. Opportunity Zones will not be another bureaucratic process burdened by red tape, but rather a streamlined, efficient process that allows for investments to truly help communities in need. America’s governors, mayors and other local leaders can begin to bring development, hope, and prosperity to some of the most challenged places in our country.
