Military Academy Nominations
As your senator, I have the great privilege of nominating the next generation of South Carolinians to attend our nation’s military academies. Last week I announced that applications are now open for the class of 2026! The students who apply for nominations have decided not only to pursue a military career, but also to take on some of the most rigorous collegiate curriculums our country has to offer.
I am so proud to live in a nation where thousands of Americans—just like my father and two brothers—choose to serve in our military each year. I look forward to assisting our 2021 applicants, and I know they will make our state proud for years to come. Read more and apply for a nomination here.
Combatting Anti-Semitism
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen a disturbing and unacceptable rise in anti-Semitism across the nation. I launched the Congressional Caucus on Black-Jewish Relations, along with Senators Rosen and Booker, to combat that racism and hate.
The Black community understands the pain of discrimination that our Jewish friends have faced both here at home and abroad. Our communities stood side by side to enact change during the civil rights movement. And I am confident that if we come together as Americans—no matter our race, backgrounds, or political beliefs—we can continue to advance the cause of justice for all.
Sincerely,
