A
message
for
my
colleagues,
inspired
by
Hoosiers
I
delivered
my
first
speech
on
the
floor
of
the
Senate
this
past
week.
It
took
the
idea
of
“Hoosier
common
sense”
and
tied
it
to
the
mission
of
working
towards
the
“common
good”
of
Hoosiers
and
all
Americans.

Continuing
to
fight
the
opioid
epidemic
I
introduced
a
proposal
with
Senator
Hassan
of
New
Hampshire
to
improve
the
education
process
around
“abuse-deterrent”
opioids.
A
simple
conversation
can
have
the
ability
to
make
a
huge
difference
in
the
opioid
epidemic
that
is
plaguing
many
communities
in
Indiana
and
around
the
country.
This
proposal
would
offer
doctors
better
information
about
the
risks
of
addiction
and
encourage
them
to
communicate
that
information
with
their
patients.
That’s
a
conversation
worth
having. Find

the
legislation

Pressing
the
Saudi
Arabian
Government
on
Yemen’s
Humanitarian
Crisis
More
than
10
million
people
in
Yemen
require
immediate
assistance
to
save
or
sustain
their
lives
and
prevent
a
famine
of
biblical
proportions.
Currently,
political
barriers
and
the
threat
of
military
action
prevent
life-saving
medical
supplies
and
other
humanitarian
assistance
from
reaching
those
who
need
it.
I
met
with
the
Saudi
Arabian
Foreign
Minister
to
press
him
on
the
matter
and
came
away
unsatisfied
with
their
government’s
response
to
the
matter;
