Grassley
Direct
This
week,
I
spoke
with
Dan
Kennedy
and
Dan
Deibert
on
WOC
radio
in
Davenport
about sanctuary
cities,
the
race
for
Speaker
of
the
House,
serving
pork
in
prisons,
and
the
budget.

Q&A:
REACH
Act
Q:
Why
are
you
working
to
advance
Medicare
reforms
for
rural
hospitals?
Q:
How
would
the
REACH
Act
help?
Q:
Which
rural
hospitals
would
be
eligible
to
participate
under
the
REACH
Act?
Paid
to
Stay
Home:
Excessive
Leave
at
Federal
Agencies
At
any
given
time,
thousands
of
federal
employees
are
paid
not
to
work.
Sometimes,
it’s
because
they’re
under
investigation
for
wrongdoing.
Other
times,
they’ve
been
sidelined
by
managers
for
making
waves.
Whatever
the
case,
excessive
paid
leave
isn’t
good
for
taxpayers.
I
call
it
a
crutch
not
to
make
a
decision
on
personnel
problems. I’m
working
to
fix
the
problem
and
continuing
to
expose
abuses,
such
as
the
88
employees
at
the
Department
of
Homeland
Security
who
have
been
on
paid
leave
for
a
year
or
more.
