Remaining Vigilant Against Terrorist Attacks

The recent terrorist attacks in Paris are a solemn reminder of the need to remain vigilant against threats of terrorism directed at the people of the United States.  Last week I gave a speech on the Senate floor to remind us that our homeland has been under a constant threat for many years.  We’ve seen successful attacks as well as attacks that have been thwarted by U.S. law enforcement and intelligence officials.  The common thread among all of these is that they were undertaken by terrorists who coordinated with radical Islamist extremists, were inspired by them, or who shared their views.  I posted to my website a list of terrorist attacks on the United States since 9/11 that I prepared from public sources.  The list may not include each and every attack by these terrorists here, but it does include a wide variety of attempted and planned attacks against our citizens.  It should also serve as a reminder to remain vigilant.  You can also read my speech here or click below to watch.
