Looking back: 25 years ago, the Columbine massacre left 12 students and a teacher dead and forever changed Colorado. Now, over two decades later, our kids continue to grow up in the shadow of gun violence.
What I did: This week, I joined my Colorado colleagues and gun safety advocates to remember those young Coloradans who never got the chance to graduate, go to college, get married, or start their own families. I also went to the Senate floor to pay tribute to the victims of this tragedy.
What I believe: Our kids shouldn’t have to grow up in a country where mass gun violence is a normal condition of American life. As we commemorate this solemn anniversary, we must stand united in our commitment to free every child from the threat of gun violence.
2. CALLING ON SPEAKER JOHNSON TO PASS UKRAINE AID

What’s happening: Two months ago, the Senate voted to send aid to Ukraine as it continues to fight Putin’s illegal war. With each day that passes, the situation is worsening on the frontlines of Ukraine. Soldiers are out of bullets and out of time.
What I did: This week, Kansas Senator Jerry Moran and I joined Fox News’ Bret Baier to urge Republicans and Speaker Johnson to swiftly extend additional military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. I also wrote an op-ed for the Washington Examiner to explain the critical need for this continued support.
Good news: For months, I’ve called on the House to deliver this aid to the Ukrainian people. Now, the House appears to be moving forward on this desperately needed aid.
