1 BIG THING: WELCOMING CLEAN ENERGY FUNDING FOR COLORADO
Welcoming EPA Clean Energy Funding with Senator Hickenlooper
What happened: This week, we welcomed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) announcement that Colorado will receive nearly $330 million to reduce greenhouse gas pollution. These grants will decarbonize homes and businesses and address methane pollution from landfills and mines across our state.
What I believe: With the Inflation Reduction Act, we made the biggest climate investment in American history, and Colorado is uniquely positioned to benefit from it as it continues to lead the country’s clean energy transition. I’m pleased the EPA is working with local leaders to ensure these investments reach every corner of our state.
2. SECURING NEARLY $500 MILLION FOR COLORADO
Good news: In just the past month, Colorado has received nearly $500 million in new federal funding. These investments will support communities across Colorado as they work to expand high-tech manufacturing facilities, create jobs, and improve our state’s roads and bridges.
What’s next: I’m grateful to have helped secure many of these investments and I’ll continue my work to ensure Colorado receives as much federal funding as possible.
3. CHEERING ON COLORADO’S OLYMPIANS
Cheering on Team USA: This week, the 2024 Olympic Games kicked off in Paris, France and I’m thrilled that over two dozen Coloradans have qualified to compete in 14 different sports. Learn more about the Coloradans competing here.
