Aloha,

The Office of U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI) is looking statewide for enthusiastic, self-motivated, and involved high school seniors to be selected as interns.

This internship will provide students with a hands-on learning opportunity about the U.S. Senate, create a forum for students to share issues and information with the Senator and his staff, and encourage students to be leaders and advocates in their schools and communities. Activities will involve working with Outreach Staff on community visits with the Senator, identifying issues of interest in their school and community, and attending and staffing special events.

This is not an office position and students should miss little or no class time in performing the tasks or assignments related to the program. Public, private, charter and homeschool seniors may apply. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or better and have personal access to email throughout the internship.

The application will be available on Senator Schatz’s website www.schatz.senate.gov and must be completed no later than October 3, 2014. Selected students will be notified in mid-October. This program will run from October 15, 2014 - April 30, 2015.

Copy of school transcripts should be mailed to:
