Speaking with Coloradans about Issues that Matter to Them

Hearing from Coloradans at my town halls in Boulder and Salida.

This week: I held two in-person town halls – in Boulder alongside Representative Joe Neguse, and in Salida with Representative Brittany Pettersen. It was great to speak with so many Coloradans about the issues they care about, from building a strong economy to protecting our state’s federal workers. What I believe: As we continue working together to counter President Trump’s chaos and improve our state for every Coloradan, I’m grateful to all those who showed up to have their voices heard. I look forward to taking their thoughts and ideas back with me to Washington.

What’s happening: I will be hosting an in-person town hall in Grand Junction on Wednesday, April 23, at 3:45 PM MT.

3. Visiting Coloradans at Work in Their Communities

Visiting Browns Canyon National Monument with Rep. Pettersen and local leaders. 

What I did: During my travels throughout the state this week, I saw firsthand how Coloradans are improving their communities – and how I can help. 

One highlight: In Chaffee County, I visited Browns Canyon National Monument to learn more about local efforts to protect our public lands, from increasingly severe wildfires to the Trump administration’s mass terminations of land management agency personnel.

What’s next: Colorado’s extraordinary public lands shape our identity and drive our economy. Our work to protect these treasured landscapes is more important than ever. I will always use every tool at my disposal to protect them for future generations, including through legislation like my CORE Act and my bipartisan SHRED Act.

4. IN THE NEWS THIS WEEK

• Alongside my Senate colleagues, I reintroduced legislation to combat gun violence and protect children across the country. Our bill will keep weapons of war out of the hands of the wrong people while respecting responsible gun owners. 
• April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month, an opportunity to support the one million Americans living with Parkinson’s, including more than 15,000 Coloradans. Let’s work together to advance research, improve care, and find a cure.
• It was great to welcome members of the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association to the office last week. We discussed everything from Colorado’s needs in the next Farm Bill, to ensuring U.S. Department of Agriculture programs live up to their potential.
