Reaffirming Support of Continued Nationwide IVF Access

I joined all Republican senators in reaffirming support of continued nationwide access to in vitro fertilization (IVF). IVF is legal and available in every state across our nation. We strongly support continued nationwide access to IVF, which has allowed millions of aspiring parents to start and grow their families.

My Bill Promoting Peaceful Resolution to the Tibet-China Dispute Passes House, Head’s to President’s Desk

This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bipartisan bill I introduced to enhance American support for Tibet. The legislation passed the Senate last month and will now be sent to the President, who is expected to sign it into law.

The Promoting a Resolution to the Tibet-China Dispute Act promotes dialogue between the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Dalai Lama toward a peaceful resolution of the long-standing dispute between Tibet and China. No formal dialogue between Tibetan and Chinese authorities has happened since 2010, and Chinese officials continue to make unreasonable demands of the Dalai Lama as a condition for further dialogue. This bill will push for negotiations that advance freedom for the Tibetan people and refresh U.S. policy towards Tibet. Congressional passage of this legislation further demonstrates America’s resolve that the CCP’s status quo – both in Tibet and elsewhere – is not acceptable.

I look forward to this important effort becoming law and working with my colleagues in the Senate and with the Administration to ensure swift and effective implementation.

Urging Biden Administration to Overturn Rule Enabling Abuse of Unaccompanied Migrant Children

I joined a group of Senate colleagues in introducing a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution to strike down the Biden Administration’s rule endangering the safety and wellbeing of unaccompanied migrant children. This CRA would force meaningful reforms to the government’s Unaccompanied Children program.

Last year, I joined my Senate Republican colleagues in warning the Biden Administration that its policies were harmful and failed to protect vulnerable children. Unfortunately, the Administration moved forward to finalize this rule and further exacerbate the humanitarian crisis at our southern border.
