Senator Manchin participated in the first graduating class of Mined Minds at the West Virginia Cultural Center in Charleston on January 27.


Senator Manchin visited the Beckley VA Medical Center on Friday with Acting Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Snyder, a West Virginia native.

Last week, Senator Manchin successfully introduced and passed a resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act to overturn the anti-coal “stream buffer rule,” which threatened thousands of jobs.  Senator Manchin spoke on the Senate Floor urging his colleagues to overturn this job-killing rule. The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) is the primary source of information on federal grants and nonfinancial assistance programs. Actual funding depends upon annual budget appropriations. 


After grant seekers identify federal programs in CFDA, websites such as or provide regular updates when application announcements for competitive grants become available. The websites allow grant seekers to register and download applications for current competitive funding opportunities from all 26 federal grants-making agencies.
