This Friday:

Keyser Regional Job Fair

Since October 2015, I have been honored to co-host job fairs across the state. My next job fair is in Keyser on Friday, April 13 at WVU Potomac State College's J. Edward Kelley Complex (formerly the Keyser Armory), from Noon to 3 p.m.

On the Road

Upper Big Branch Remembrance Ceremony

I was humbled and honored to attend the Remembrance Ceremony for the eighth Anniversary of the Upper Big Branch Mine Disaster in Whitesville last week.  No family or community should have to ever deal with a tragedy that was preventable like this one at Upper Big Branch. We must strive to ensure that there are adequate safety standards in place so that miners will come back to their loved ones each and every day. As always, Gayle and I join all West Virginians in grieving the loss of those 29 miners and we honor their memories and pray for the continued strength of their families.

Visiting Whitesville

I also visited Midtown Grocery and Arvon's Floral in Whitesville before stopping by The Country Store in Seth. These small businesses are the heart of their communities and our state.

Bluefield Job Fair

Many thanks to the nearly 100 employers and 500 job seekers who participated in the job fair at Bluefield State College last week!

$4.5 Million Announced for Martinsburg Transit Center

Last week, I announced that the Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority will receive $4,500,000 in funding to construct a new transit operations center in Martinsburg.

The Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority provides a crucial service throughout the region and expanding their infrastructure will create jobs and drive economic growth that will support Martinsburg and the entire region. I am excited to see this investment come to West Virginia.
