On the Road

I was pleased to meet with Erica Mani, Regional Chief Executive Officer for the American Red Cross West Virginia Region about the Sound the Alarm campaign. On average, seven people die in home fires every day, most in homes without working smoke alarms. I’m proud to support the Red Cross's Sound the Alarm campaign to install smoke alarms in at-risk communities. Visit: http://soundthealarm.org/westvirginia to learn more.

Senator Manchin meets with Erica Mani of the American Red Cross about the Sound the Alarm campaign.

Regional Coordinator Mary Jo Guidi attended the groundbreaking for the Gold Star Family Memorial Monument in Wheeling last week on my behalf. I truly appreciate my very dear friend Hershel "Woody" Williams and all those who made this beautiful ceremony possible to honor our Veterans and their families.

How May We Help You?

I truly appreciate the opportunity to hear from my fellow West Virginians. As your U.S. Senator, I am proud to be your voice with government agencies during your time of need. My goal is to provide top-notch customer service for every West Virginian who contacts me, or who may need help. My staff is available to help you with matters of concern. While I have no direct jurisdiction in the administrative matters of any federal, state, or local agency, I welcome the opportunity to assist you with whatever problem you may be experiencing and ask that full consideration is given to your case.

Mr. Ashable DeVault originally contacted Senator Manchin’s office in July 2017 for assistance with his two appeals pending with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Board of Veterans’ Appeals.  In January 2018, the BVA remanded Mr. DeVault’s case back to the Regional office for a final determination where he was granted full benefits on all appeal issues.  Mr. DeVault now receives 100% service connected disability, as well as dependents benefits for his wife, Donna.
