MANCHIN SECURES WEST VIRGINIA PRIORITIES IN NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT

“The United States military must be prepared and able to defend our nation from threats at home and abroad. This bipartisan legislation is critical to combatting enemies seen and unseen, and includes funding for numerous priorities for West Virginia, including training center support, intelligence gathering at Green Bank and cybersecurity research. I am pleased with the bipartisan efforts on this legislation and the commitment to regular order from my colleagues. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to finalize this essential legislation that includes numerous provisions for the Mountain State."

Last week I spoke with Veterans of all generations at the West Virginia VFW convention. The West Virginia VFW inducted its first female commander, adding to the long lineage of historical achievements of this great organization.

Last week I addressed students attending West Virginia Rhododendron Girls State and American Legion Mountaineer Boys State. These young men and women are our leaders of tomorrow, and I applaud them for their interest in public service and their love for our country and our beautiful state.

Ms. Thompson of Princeton contacted my office for assistance with the Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC) benefits for her husband. After submitting an injury on her behalf, my office helped to get his benefits released and CRSC was granted.

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance with a state or federal agency, please contact my office at 304-342-5855.
