The VA AIR Commission is dead. Following my bipartisan efforts, West Virginia's VA Medical Centers will be spared from downsizing. This announcement is a huge victory for West Virginia Veterans, and I'm proud to have led this fight on their behalf.

John and Jo Ann of Raleigh County contacted my office requesting assistance with John's efforts obtain service connected benefits. His claim had been pending with the VA since 2020. With the help my staff, he received a response in three days, was granted service connection and a retroactive payment.

Low Income Energy Assistance Programs

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resource (DHHR) is now accepting applications for the Emergency Low Income Energy Assistance Program and Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program. These federally funded programs are available to West Virginia state residents for heating, water and sewer bills.

Those interested in applying may contact their local DHHR office with questions or to request an interview to determine eligibility.

Bridge Investment Program

The Bridge Investment Program is a competitive discretionary grant program to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the movement of people and freight by replacing, rehabilitating, preserving, and protecting bridges in the National Bridge Inventory (NBI). It has a focus on improving the condition of bridges in poor condition and supporting activities to prevent bridges in fair condition from dropping to poor condition.
